Music, Drama and Sport at Salterford HouseSalterford House has a very strong tradition of music, drama and sport. Class music lessons begin when the children are in kindergarten and take place weekly for all children throughout the school. Children are also given the opportunity to learn piano, violin, flute, saxophone, clarinet and drums. Recorder lessons are given to all children from Year 2 onwards and we have a very strong recorder group. The school band, open to all musicians, meets weekly to play together and enjoy music as well as rehearsing for recitals and performances throughout the year. ![]() Speech and Drama lessons are offered to all children and the children are able to enter LAMDA examinations twice a year. Our results in these external examinations are always very impressive indeed. All children perform concerts and plays at Christmas for the parents. In addition, our thriving drama club puts on a full scale musical production every Easter. For the last few years we have entered the ISA Drama Festival and have been awarded many trophies and prizes including Best Musical two years running! ![]() The school sports department is very active and successful. All children participate in Physical Education and Swimming and from Year One they receive training in soccer, rugby, cricket, netball, rounders, tennis and cross country running. Our sports teams play against other local schools and have represented the school in local as well as national competitions. ![]() |
