Educational day trips are an integral part of learning and we have a number of regular trips at Salterford House which include: Belton House, Creswell Crags, Nottingham Castle, Patchings Art Centre, Yorvik, Conkers and Stratford Upon Avon where our pupils had the chance to perform Shakespeare in the Birthplace garden in front of a large and appreciative crowd.
In the past we have taken a group skiing and to the Normandy coast for residential trips. In Year 6 the children visit North Yorkshire for a week of fun and fieldwork in the idyllic surrounding of the Yorkshire Wolds.
We regularly welcome speakers to our school to meet with and inspire the children. Recently, our EYFS department enjoyed a visit from a local optician, the firemen from the local fire station and the local doctor. The older children have had the chance to get involved in a workshop from Wateraid, a number of sportsmen and women as well as people of different faiths who help the children celebrate a range of religious festivals throughout the year.
